What Are Dental Implants?
The dental implants themselves are tiny titanium posts, which are surgically inserted into the jawbone where teeth are missing. These metal anchors act as tooth root substitutes. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Small posts are then attached to the implant, which protrude through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.
Dental implants also help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing.
Teeth In An Hour
"Teeth in an Hour" can reverse years of the denture debacle or discomfort of not having teeth. The benefits are significant. After a surgical and restorative appointment, a patient has permanent TEETH. In the very recent past, this was difficult at best. To place a full bridge of implants would have taken many, many months and multiple procedures - all with less accurate results.
How does it work? Dr. Greene and Dr. Hanson take a three-dimensional, digital CT scan of the patient's mouth. They then place the implants in the patient's mouth virtually on the patient's 3-D, CT scan/image on a computer screen.
This is much more concise than traditional modalities. This information is then used to create an actual (Nobel) Guide which is constructed in Sweden. It typically takes no more than 10 days to get it back. Teeth (which are attached to the implants) are also fabricated from this CT data.
During surgery, the guide is placed on the patient's mouth, providing highly accurate direction for implant placement and duplicating the pre-determined plan. Teeth also can be placed in the same appointment. Hence, teeth in an hour.
